yokyu and hachi

MORE INFO ABOUT THEM:
theyre based off japanese good/bad luck numbers! 4 and 9 are bad luck (so yokyu is a play on those numbers in japanese) and 8 (hachi) is good luck!!

so basically, yokyu has extremely bad luck, to the point where hes constantly in danger of dying. he's constantly losing things, and getting hurt, which is why he's always got some sort of bandaids on him. hes had many near-death experiences, and is almost always in danger, whether literally, financially, or in any other sense. because of this, he is very fragile and scared of just about everything. he's a crybaby, and easily frightened. if you were to prank him, he would probably break down and never talk to you again, because he's too afraid you'll hurt him. please be gentle with him, give him hugs and protect him. he's like a lost puppy, and is too small to protect himself.

hachi, on the other hand, has very very good luck. we're talking, not getting wet when it rains. THAT lucky. he's gorgeous, too, which may be another byproduct of his luck. he has no job, doesn't dress well, and doesn't go to school, because he knows he can live a comfortable life without it. sounds like a dream, doesn't it? however, hachi is very unhappy with his life. everything is handed to him, there's no variety in his life. that's part of the reason why he sits around at home all day.. he knows that it'll never change, and he has no motivation to be productive. he's very emotionless, and has very little empathy or compassion. he's just... oh, so bored of everything.

so, when these two meet... it's quite the miracle!! they find that they cancel each other's luck out.. they still don't live normal lives, but rather, they completely change each other's lives. yokyu adds variety to hachi's dull, luxurious life, and he gets a taste of what it's like to not have everything handed to him. yokyu's bad luck experiences are integrated into his life, and it adds the spark he's been looking for. on the other side of things, hachi literally keeps yokyu from dying. yokyu constantly lives his life running away from death, but now, he doesn't have to be afraid constantly. he still is, and he's very easily traumatized and cries a lot, but hachi always quietly comforts him when he does. it always calms yokyu down. hachi is very tall and warm, and yokyu likes to snuggle up to him when he's afraid. he makes him feel safe.

because of this, their relationship is almost codependent. they're always together, because otherwise, their curse continues as normal. plus, they enjoy each other's company... hachi likes having yokyu around, he's very peppy and positive. yokyu likes hachi too, because of his calm demeanor and ease with comforting him when he's scared. hachi reveals his sweet side to yokyu, too. he laughs at his silly jokes, smiles, hugs him, cuddles him when he needs it. he's got a good heart.
